This Privacy Policy describes how monitorsslcertificates.com ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and company name. If you sign in via a third-party SSO provider, we receive a verified email address and basic profile information from that provider.
Monitored hostnames. When you add a hostname to monitoring, we store the hostname string, the timestamps of our checks, and the public certificate metadata (issuer, valid dates, signature algorithm, subject alternative names).
Usage data. We log basic request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate analytics. We do not log the contents of free SSL checker lookups beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service, including SSL certificate checks and email alerts.
- To authenticate you and protect your account.
- To communicate with you about service updates, security incidents, and support requests.
- To improve the Service through aggregate analytics.
3. Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with the subprocessors necessary to operate the Service (hosting, email delivery, error monitoring), and only the minimum information required for them to perform their function. We will disclose information if required by law.
4. Data retention
Account information is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the account settings page, which removes your personal information within 30 days. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be retained longer.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Contact us at privacy@monitorsslcertificates.com to exercise these rights.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel with audited access logs.
7. Cookies
We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Changes
We will notify you by email of any material changes to this policy. Continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance.
